Q: What is BLUP?

A: BLUP stands for Best Unbiased Linear Prediction, or in other words: a number that indicates the quality/ability of your horse. Horses with positive BLUP are considered to be "better" horses than those that have negative or zero BLUP. The higher the BLUP, the more skills the offspring of that horse will inherit. BLUP also can increase during training or after competition wins.
